Douglas County School District - Software Integration Manager

Manages a team of developers, system administrators, system analysts and database administrators that are responsible for implementing integration points for enterprise applications, as well as developing new applications aligned with District goals. Oversees maintenance and upgrades for 50+ off-the-shelf and custom enterprise applications, including Oracle E-Business Suite, Infinite Campus, Google applications, Web Development, Identity Management, Transportation applications, and Nutrition Services applications.  Responsible for maintenance, testing and upgrades for all supporting middleware products, including databases, application and reporting servers, and fusion middleware products.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage workload for team; assign project and maintenance work based on skills and needs.  Provide guidance to the team to ensure applications will meet customer needs.   Perform programming logic design and review with team. Assist and direct staff in determining the most effective method of enhancing or modifying programs. Direct human resources activities for professional staff: Hires, mentors, evaluates, disciplines, terminates; ensures professional development opportunities are available to team. Provide suggestions and guidance to the team during the planning and execution phases of projects and enhancements to ensure product will meet customer needs. Lead and understand the implementation of complex, technical systems.  Participate with vendors and project teams in detailed discussions of technical requirements and design. Stay knowledgeable about existing hardware and software infrastructure elements. Work with IT Leadership to set direction and provide future direction.  Keep ahead of technology curve that will affect the team.  Research trends in technology as it relates to the current suite of products.  Instruct team in incorporating new technology into existing infrastructure and new project design. Work with the IT Program Management Office (PMO) to allocate and assign team resources to projects.  Manage and monitor resource availability for the team. Evaluate potential software products/enhancements to determine impacts to customers, processes, and other enterprise applications, as well as requirements for support, training, and additional hardware.  Maintain positive working relationships with IT managers and customers. Occasionally serve as project manager. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or Business.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 

Minimum of 5 years management experience in systems design, analysis and programming methodologies, as well as programming in a development environment using relational database technologies. Demonstrated experience in SQL Server 2008 and Oracle 11g database environments. Proficient in the use of java, SQL, Oracle Fusion Middleware (SOA and IDM), APEX, Web  Development and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. Prior experience programming, implementing and integrating large enterprise applications. Experience in Oracle E-Business Suite and Infinite Campus.

Must be able to work autonomously with little to no supervision. Experience supporting a broad variety of business lines, including human capital management, finance, and operations.  Experience in Education is preferred. Understanding of Business Process Management, and ability to conduct business analysis and translate customer needs into technical specifications. Proven understanding of technical design as well as functional requirements. Excellent time management skills including the ability to effectively work on multiple projects at one time. Skilled in demonstrating innovation and creativity by continually improving internal processes.  Champion and promote department policies, including Change Management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English) and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions. Proven experience leading workshops, giving presentations to large audiences and facilitating meetings. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to effectively adapt to changing priorities, time-frames and team makeup. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google products.
