Primary Responsibility:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer works as a project team member to jointly deliver high quality applications on time and budget. The QA Automation Engineer will implement and execute the functional, regression, and acceptance test strategy on highly repetitive and collaborative projects. This individual will perform tasks that will include; test planning, manual testing, test automation, test environment setup / teardown, defect logging and verification and overall maintenance of automation and test cases.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Evaluate existing products and prioritize automation needs.

· Create and maintain automated scripts utilizing Quick Test Pro.

· Collaborate with System Analysts, project management and engineering teams to develop a comprehensive set of automated test.

· Maintain and execute automated tests.

· Write and document automated tests.

· Enter and query defects in defect tracking database.

· Perform data analysis and data testing using SQL queries.

· Assist with manual testing, product planning and non-automation QA activities as needed.

· Train peers on automation concepts and tools.

· Author user guides.


Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical field or similar discipline preferred; Minimum five years related experience; Minimum five years of experience in the field of software or application testing; Minimum three years experience in the field of automated testing and automated testing methodologies; and/or training; Or combination of education and experience.

· Strong knowledge of automated testing tools and techniques.

· Recent experience coding VBScript.

· Recent, hands-on experience using HP Quick Test Professional.

· Understanding of Relational Databases with the ability to write basic SQL queries.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Experience with JIRA and Greenhopper preferred.

· Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies preferred.
