General Description
This position evaluates and tests software programs to verify programs
function according to specifications and standards by performing the
following duties:
Test Automation Duties
* Evaluate and recommend third party tools for test automation
* Develop programs and tools to automate test processes
* Work closely with developers to create unit tests
* Develop automated integration tests and performance tests
* Perform other white-box testing tasks as required to vet
software functionality, usability, reliability, performance and
supportability
* Participate in software architecture and design to ensure
quality considerations are part of every solution
General Duties
* Evaluate and test software programs to verify functionality
according to user requirements and documentation
* Validate performance of software relative to established
guidelines and benchmarks
* Test usability of software in collaboration with business
stakeholders and customers
* Validate the reliability of software via stress testing
* Validate the supportability of software in collaboration with
operations and development teams
* Create and execute test cases and test plans for all the above
* Review logs, configuration settings and database states to
identify errors and recommend improvements
* Document test results and provide release readiness
recommendations
* Document defects, questionable functions, errors and
inconsistencies in software with an attention to detail and written
steps to reproduce found issues
* Respond to inquiries from business stakeholders, customer
support and internal customers regarding functions and operation of
software and systems
* Coordinate user acceptance test feedback and train users
where needed

Experience Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
* 2+ years software testing experience
* In depth knowledge of testing concepts, tools and
methodologies
* Demonstrated ability to write software in Java, Cold Fusion
and/or C#
* Demonstrated knowledge of SQL query syntax and usage
Desired Requirements:
* 2+ years developing or testing .NET applications
* Experience with e-commerce and associated testing requirements
* Knowledge of business to business integration leveraging EDI
and XML
* In depth knowledge of Visual Studio Test Edition
* Web performance testing experience
Education Requirements
Minimum Education:
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering,
Information Sciences or applicable job experience
