MySQL Database Developer (Data-warehouse experience desired)
JOB SUMMARY::
A Developer at Beatport works on a cross functional Agile Scrum team building solutions to address business and technology needs. This position is for a cross-functional developer (PHP) with a specialty in MySQL Database development and proven experience with Data-warehousing solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS::
Planning, tasking and estimating user stories - 10%
Preparing and Demoing work - 2%
Working within your specialization - 58%
Working outside your specialization - 30%
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
5+ year related experience
A solid understanding of PHP
A solid understanding of MySQL
A solid understanding of Test Driven Development
DB :: Proven experience with MySQL Administration
DB :: Proven experience in Data Warehousing
DB :: Detailed understanding of performance tuning
DB :: Process experience with security, environment management, and capacity planning
Proven Object Oriented experience
Proven experience in software design and architecture
Comfortable with Linux
Comfortable with Java
Comfortable with Javascript
Familiarity with software release procedures and requirements
Knowledge of a variety of general web technologies (HTML, AJAX, XML, JSON, etc.)
Personable, friendly, and positive-thinking attitude
Proven ability to work with others to efficiently tackle teamwork-oriented tasks
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with Agile methodologies
Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to use multiple platforms (Linux / OS X / and Windows)
Ability to effectively document and present technical concepts
