Since its inception in 2001, Local Matters has experienced tremendous growth. Our Internet, voice and wireless services are used in countries around the world, from North America to Europe to Asia, and there is much more ahead.
Duties:
• Collaboratively define UI experience with the Local Matters Information Architecture and Design teams
• Implement UI tier according to specifications for overall look and feel
• Ensure that UI implementation is cross-browser compatible for all supported browser versions
• Ensure that the UI implementation is valid and well-formed
• Ensure that the UI implementation is done according to best practices for code structure, page weight, minimizing http requests, etc
• Stay on top of developing technologies and patterns that address real problems or reduce overall development effort
• Provide a highly interactive experience while improving overall responsiveness and performance of web pages
• For all iterations, deliver work on time with high level of quality in order to minimize rework
Qualifications:
• 3+ years with core web technologies (HTML, JavaScript/DOM, CSS).
• Some experience with prevalent JavaScript toolkits/frameworks (YUI, GWT, Prototype).
• Experience with mixed-markup languages (JSP/JSTL, PHP, ASP).
• Experience with more recent web technologies (JSON, AJAX frameworks, Microformats).
• Knowledge of web standards principles and practices.
• An eye for design and layout.
• Ability to work independently from assignment through completion.
• Experience with Agile Methodology.
• Ability to work with Product Managers, Designers and Information Architects.
