Verizon - Systems Engineer

This position is for an experienced and talented IT person that can be a business leader in our organization. We are looking for a person that that can help us lead Verizon E2Ei VOIP projects overall across pre-sales, post sales, Billing and Service assurance domains and not just IT systems. The person needs to work with marketing, service delivery, various PMO groups and other IT peer groups to help drive the IT implementation of the products for Verizon. This person will help negotiating and managing expectation of our business partners for the products where we are the lead org. This person needs to help drive Business requirements and able to handle and manage mismatched client expectations or unclear priorities, we are having to handle escalations and increase the scope in reactive manner. We are training our existing staff to be an IT business leader vs. an IT only leader but we need to hire some skills to accelerate this transformation and be an example to existing staff. Part of this position requires a very experienced leader responsible for communicating and working in lock step with business partners, Architects and Development teams to manage the scope and expectations. Part of the role entails being a "User Experience Architect" who will work efficiently on a variety of VoIP projects with great passion and flexibility, and brings a user-centered approach to problem solving rather than IT centric approach. The candidate needs to have extensive IT background working in an onshore/offshore model. This position is for Colorado (Highlands Ranch) but will consider very strong candidates in the Temple Terrance, FL location.

Required Skills & Experience Associates or Bachelors Degree Required
5+ years of Technical background being a software developer in Java or similar Object Oriented development in a UNIX environment. Oracle DB experience a must
Multiple years and demonstrable experience in the role as a business leader and not only an IT technical developer/manager
The position will require working on business architecture, business process workflow optimization, increase automation and flow-through.
Lead cross functional teams (onsite, offshore, vendors) in addressing/creating system solutions.
Ensure that the BREQs are clear and detailed
Prioritization and scoping of BREQs in line with business process
Present Birds eye view of committed functionalities
Propose and implement business process for functionalities pending discussion
Collect requirements from Product Marketing and Operations
Coordinate with Project Management Teams for delivery
Responsible for inter system communication design
Acts as subject matter expert for matters related to VoIP initiatives.
Demonstrates skills in interviewing business and technical leaders across multiple IT teams to gather and clarify business requirements. Candidate should have practiced in clarifying business requirements, performing gap analysis between goals and existing procedures, and designing processes and system improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Collaborate with Strategists, Creative teams, Developers, User groups and Project Managers to create technical architecture. Produce detailed documentation based on research.
Experience in using standard Architectural Framework such as TOGAF/Zachman for enterprise architecture documentation. Ability to recommend and standardize such tools across all teams.
Works with various VoIP centers and documents various VoIP Center issues. Provides solutions to VoIP Cener Advocacy issues and other issues faced in production to improve overall customer experience.
Should have experience in ordering and billing domains to recommend right solutions to user problems.
The ability to balance user needs, business requirements and technical requirements when making recommendations.
Highly adept at diplomatically facilitating discussions and negotiations with stakeholders.
Strong critical thinking skills and keen attention to detail.
Research interaction design trends.
Help to promote user-centered design throughout the department.
Team player that can also work independently, with a strong sense of personal accountability.
Leads a team of dedicated IT professionals by coaching, mentoring and leading by example.
Investigates, initiates, manages process and cost saving improvement initiative.
Take ownership in IT for end to end quality assurance and UAT to improve customer experience.

Desired Skills & Experience Knowledge of the VOIP provisioning
Experience in Telecommunication provisioning
Experience in Telecommunication quoting, contracting, ordering, billing and service assurance
Designs java based web GUI solutions and leads implementations working within team environment Supports QA and user acceptance testing to ensure successful implementations
Detailed knowledge in java development, Oracle SQL, web service implementations with EXT JS and MQ series experience a plus
Strong communication skills with team leadership experience
