Required Skills, Experience, and Education
7+ years hands-on software development experience
5+ years J2EE development
BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related engineering field preferred
Experience developing entire stack of J2EE technologies (DB, middle-tier, front end)
Spring and Hibernate
Experience developing Web Services
Experience with ORM (object relational mapping) technologies
Experience with Linux and development on a unix based system

Position Responsibilities
This position is responsible for overseeing the Enterprise Linux and Oracle IT environment, providing consistent end-to-end operations services of the highest level (hardware and software) in accordance with company standards. This position will work in the capacity of an intermediate system administrator, assisting in the designing and monitoring all aspects of the company's Linux and Oracle services. This is an operations position which will include project work, evaluating requests from local administrators and project managers identifying and providing solutions to applications and/or systems problems.
•Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
•Installation, configuration and ongoing system administration maintenance of x86 Linux and Windows 2008 environments
•Responsible for the planning, testing, tuning, configuration and setup of the Oracle Enterprise Linux / OVM environment, as well as supporting common applications.
•Assists in solving production problems in a timely manner, including off hours and weekend support when necessary.
•Ensure OS, Database, and application availability, security, consistency and overall functionality.
•Schedule, lead and participate in weekend maintenance activities, as required.
•Installs and maintains hardware, OS and database software including complex patches, updates, upgrades and maintaining database licenses and vendor support agreements.
•Complies with all change management policies and directives, leading audits, mitigations and service strategy development.
Required Skills & Experience
• Linux Engineer (5-7 years' experience)
• Operating Systems: Oracle OEL5/6, OVM 3, Red Hat Linux, UNIX, Windows 2008
• Hardware: HP BladeSystem, HP Servers, NetApp Filers, NAS Storage
• BS in Computer Science or work related experience.
• Experience administering Linux installations running RHEL/OEL/OVM including strong knowledge of the command line.
• Shell scripting experience required.
• Must possess exceptional organizational, written & verbal communication skills.
• Oracle, Apache, and/or Tomcat experience a plus.
• Configuring and managing VMWARE ESX virtual environments a plus
• Must have the ability to work in a highly visible and fast paced environment.
• Packages: iPlanet, Oracle Application Server, Apache, Websphere, WebLogic, active directory, Vcenter, VMWARE ESX
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree Preferred
