McKesson - Senior Oracle DBA

Responsible for design, development, implementation and administration of database architecture that support business objectives.​  Performs creation of database objects such as stored procedures, triggers, packages, tuning, database administration, troubleshooting required of Oracle database environments.​  Supports multiple system environments (in-house and external) for development, testing and production releases.​  Performs logical design and physical implementation of data services layer.​  Proactively diagnoses and resolves problems affecting database performance.​  Designs and implements database backup and recovery strategies.​    Adheres to our standards and quality control procedures.​  Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.​


This person will work with a cross-section of internal IT organizations, including other DBA's, systems analysts, developers and the management team.​  Excellent analytical skills, time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask, ability to routinely make effective and timely decisions in alignment with departmental direction is required.​

- Proactively tune database systems to meet business SLAs
- Plan and implement effective backup & recovery, business continuity strategies
- Design, test, implementing and maintain high availability solutions
- Installation, administration, troubleshooting of Oracle database systems
- Performs system builds and comply with release management, change management and quality assurance standards
- Identify and implement process improvements in various database aspects
- Control and monitor user access to databases and maintain database security
- Allocate systems storage and develop plans for future growth requirements
- Must have the ability and willingness to be on-call for live coverage and to cover live weekend events
- The positions requires about 10%​ travel.​


Minimum Requirements
6+​ years experience in database administration

Additional Knowledge & Skills
- Experience working with Oracle support
- Familiarity with SQL Server
