Description and Desired Qualifications
CH2M HILL Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA), Englewood-Denver, CO

The challenge
Be at the center of a global leader in full-service engineering, consulting, construction and operations. Each day you will help ensure that the databases have stable operating environments which consist of a high degree of data integrity, availability, performance, and recoverability. In addition, you will participate in the planning, design, development, maintenance, and management of Oracle databases in a 24/7 support environment and in the development of long-term database strategies and objectives, standards and procedures for enterprise-wide systems. You should be a self-motivated, detail oriented professional with 10+ years Oracle 10G or 11g DBA experience and 8+ years of experience with the Oracle e-Business Application Suite. In addition, you should have the desire to grow both personally and professionally with each new IT project.

Our Senior Oracle Database Administrators::

* Are responsible for the architecture, design, creation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and administration of all new and existing database systems for the enterprise.

* Participate in the Development of proper security for all systems that are designed, developed, and/or implemented.

* Understands the use of information systems, the importance of business and financial data integrity and security, the need to protect information, and the obligation to follow appropriate security controls.

* Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of Company information and safeguards the security, integrity, and availability of all administered systems and confidential information in the department in accordance with Information Security Policies.

* Interface with Enterprise IT Operations, Applications Development, and IT Business units to understand and interpret on-going business needs, storage and reporting requirements, and emerging trends.

* Ensure that there is a database environment that supports these needs and helps develop solutions to meet business objectives.

* Manage enterprise databases, creates, physical design, administration, monitoring, tuning, and cloning of development of backup and recovery processes that are designed for optimum speed and efficiency.

* Develop, implement, monitor, and enforce operational standards, processes, policies and procedures for database applications and database programming.

* Perform routine database maintenance, evaluate and schedule system upgrades and enhancements, and install software, updates and upgrades as necessary.

* Monitor database performance, maintain optimal performance levels, and tune the database to meet service level agreements and to ensure the effective utilization of system resources.

* Review physical database structures for data integrity, performance quality and recoverability, maintenance, and space requirements.

* Provide consultation, assistance, and technical support to all end users. Resolves problems with emphasis on timeliness and efficiency.

* SPECIAL NOTES:

Basic Qualifications

* 10+ years Oracle 10G or 11g DBA experience

* Solaris and Linux environment

* Candidates must have experience with Oracle 11g, DB Performance, Oracle RAC, Backup & recovery, Enterprise Grid, and Infrastructure support

* Data Guard, OEM - Oracle Enterprise Manager

* Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL), Stored Procedures,Recovery Manager (RMAN), Flashback Database

* Oracle backup and recovery configuration and procedures

* Knowledge of Transportable Tablespaces

* Provide support during off hours

* Oracle Application Server, Single Sign-On (SSO), Oracle Internet Directory (OID)

* UNIX Experience with Oracle 10g/11g

* Application and Database Patching

* SQL and Shell scripting

* Experience with designing, deploying, administering, and supporting Oracle Databases

* Oracle DataGuard Physical Standby configuration, build and support

* Knowledge of enterprise data architecture principles

* Ability to develop data requirements and configure database parameter

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience

* Excellent communication and documentation skills

* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

* Experience in the following areas is a plus: Business Intelligence, Oracle Discoverer, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle OBIEE, Noetix, RMAN
