VisionLink - QA Analyst, PHP Web Developer

VisionLink develops web-based applications for non-profits and government organizations that help people in need. VisionLink's technology is behind honorable institutions such as the American Red Cross, the United Way, and a myriad of social service organizations providing services to everyday people that need help from natural disasters to homelessness. Our technology supports 3-1-1- call centers, FEMA and other national, state and local organizations' mission critical operations.


As a key member of our client services team you'll ensure the quality of our product releases. Leveraging your experience as a software QA professional, you will help establish the processes, test criteria, plan and execution of our QA methodology. In your spare time, you'll have the opportunity to help us resolve defects, prepare training material and user documentation.

How you'll spend your day:
• Ensuring that testing activities will allow applications to meet business requirements and system goals.
• Reviewing and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems
• Developing test strategies for improving or leveraging our systems
• Establishment and execution of testing methods for new applications, products, and/or enhancements throughout their development lifecycles.
• Creation of testing techniques that will help us deliver high performance software.
• Analyzing formal test results in order to discover and resolve defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
• Producing reports or other documentation for all testing efforts, results, activities, data, logging, and tracking.
• Communicating test progress, results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management during SCRUM meetings

What you'll bring to the table:
• B.S./B.A. and 2 years of SaaS application testing experience (system, unit, regression, end user acceptance)
• Some exposure to software automation tools
• Experience developing functional and regression test plans
• User Story creation
• Ability to multi-task and switch priorities as needed
• Goal oriented – and driven to meet deadlines
• Creative problem solver and logical thinker
• Ability to work independently and as a member of our softball team

What we're looking for:
• B.S. in computer-related field or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of LAMP development experience
• 2+ years of SQL database programming experience
• Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL, PHP and JavaScript
• 3rd party API integration
• Ability to develop quality code that performs well under high capacity and is easy to maintain
• Passionate about making deadlines
• Comfort working in an Agile (SCRUM) development methodology
• A creative sense of humor, and adequate softball skills
