E-470 is one of the first U.S. tolling authorities to transition to an all-electronic tolling system. This sophisticated camera technology system reads sticker tags and license plates on passenger, rental and oversized vehicles at highway speeds. E-470 no longer house cash collection toll booths or coin baskets.
About the role:
You will install, maintain, and monitor the operation of the organization's Storage Infrastructure as well as Software components in Virtualization, Backups and performs general Server Administration.
Manage and monitor the integrity of core Storage systems; troubleshoot physical and logical storage connectivity. Maintain System Backups and Libraries. Maintain vendor service contracts and applicable documentation. Research and implement Disaster Recover, clustering and new technologies. Provide Tier 2 support. Performs troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs/fixes for network hardware and software related problems. Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems, planning of the organization. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of Storage Monitoring Systems. Implements system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Responsible for researching, appraising, and implementing current and future security standards that fit within the guidelines of E-470's scope of Data Storage operations.
How you'll spend your time:
• Being responsible for ongoing software installs, upgrades and maintenance on your servers
• Maintaining baseline images to speed hardware deployment. This includes WDS and SCCM support.
• Managing Builds and deployment of .NET products: Websites, WebServices, Applications, and Windows Services.
• Assisting in establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards and ensuring their compliance with information systems and company objectives.
• Since technology doesn't break during business hours, you'll be available on a rotational basis to support our business partners with their needs.
• You'll use sound security, backup, firewall, virus best practices – and you'll even help us define those practices based on your past experience.
• Answering and evaluating incoming Helpdesk tickets, telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
A bit about you:
• BS in Computer Sciences/Information Systems or equivalent (Experience may be considered as a substitute). MCP or MCSE certifications desired.
• 5 + years PC technical support, Windows Server administration or combination of related experience in a corporate environment (Active Directory, Windows XP/7, MS Office 2007, Server 2003/2008, MS Exchange 2010, PC and network troubleshooting, PC image management & deployment, enterprise anti-virus applications, and Cisco VPN)
• You might also have experience in SharePoint Server, Citrix (XenApp), and Blackberry Server (BES)
• You have knowledge of TCP/IP networks including Firewalls, VPNs, Subnetting, and SQL server and database management.
• You offer a good understanding of telephony protocols including DS3, MPLS, BGP, and OSPF.
• You are competent and familiar with SQL server (2000 – 2008_R2): SQL administration, basic query understanding, and troubleshooting. (MySQL a plus)
• You're a PC hardware/software guru
• Must be able to take on projects as assigned and determine need and resource time to complete the project in an appropriate manner.
