Newmont Mining - Systems Analyst

PURPOSE:

Ensures that enterprise and Corporate AV Systems and related equipment
are maintained, supported, optimized, and reliable. Coordinates with the
regions on critical Audio and Video conference events from Global HQ.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Ensures that all aspects of Newmont's Corporate AV systems and
facilities are supported and maintained to standards. Provides guidance
and best practices to regions for support of the regional AV functions.
* Responsible for ensuring that the AV infrastructure is
maintained to provide reliable services for HQ, including working with
service providers and AV manufacturers to ensure that the Newmont AV
solution is optimized.
* Primary point of contact for coordination and support of global
Video Conferences, Earnings calls, BOD meetings and any other executive
leadership meeting requiring AV Collaboration with Newmont regions.
* Coordinate, configure and test AV upgrades as required.
* Keep AV documentation current.
* Respond to service tickets/Executive requests and manage ticket
queues.
* Proactively monitor Executive AV equipment on a daily basis to
ensure functionality and quality of service.
* Provide on-call, support as scheduled.
* Works with IT Engineers, regional support, partners and
manufacturers to help determine AV standards, processes and procedures.
* Responsible for helping develop and maintaining solution
standards and operational processes for the Enterprise AV solutions.
* Continually investigates and implements ways to improve the
effectiveness of the Newmont AV environment.
* Coordinates and manages change for communications and related
equipment.
* Responsible for developing and implementing a corporate AV
Support standard which will include spares, maintenance, health checks
and regular evaluations of AV quality/capacity and capability.
* Helps ensure that service providers are carrying out all aspects
of contractual obligation for proactive and preventative maintenance of
the systems at Corporate.
* Responsible for ensuring that Newmont AV documentation is
accurate and maintained on a timely basis.
* Ensure that all changes to communication and infrastructure
systems, whether directly performed, or performed by the Outsource
Service Provider, are fully documented and adhere to Newmont standards
and change management policies and procedures.
* Participate in review of regional IT A/V projects and, work with
the stakeholders, prepare the necessary scoping documents, including
investigation of impact, compliance, cost, and benefits.
* Participate in the preparation and submission of requests for
quotes and capital submissions for all equipment required for providing
A/V services.
* Tracks related IT A/V issues, coordinates resolution and assists
in driving issues to closure.
* Escalates high severity issues and chronic problems to tier 3
support and appropriate management.
* Provides timely follow-through with customers and IT peers on IT
service requests and tasks.
* Promote and adhere to Newmont's methodologies, policies,
procedures and standards. Maintain a consistent high quality of work
across all responsibilities.
* Promote and adhere to Newmont Regional Occupational Health and
Safety policy and procedures. Consistently demonstrate and encourage
safe work practices.
* Promote and comply with Newmont goals and values.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

Education:

* University Degree or equivalent experience
* Audio/Video technical certifications a plus

Experience:

* 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Audio/Video solutions
specific technical support role.
* 2+ years network administration as it relates to supporting the
delivery of real-time applications (voice/video) and content.
* Experience supporting and troubleshooting desktop aspects of A/V
solutions from the client (e.g., understands Windows 7 configuration, AD
domain GPO, desktop network configuration, etc.)
* Proven experience interacting/supporting executive level
leadership.
* Hands on experience with any (but not all necessarily) of the
following A/V technologies is required (certifications a plus):

* Polycom Video and/or Tanberg Video
* Crestron
* Planar
* Cisco (or other vendor) Networking QOS / Prioritization

* Hands on experience with any of the following technologies is a
plus:

* Avaya Telephony/VOIP
* Avaya OneX communicator
* CMA Desktop
* Lync, or other Unified Comm. integration, etc.

* Proven ability to provide Audio/Video concepts and strategies in
simple, clear terms to help drive and influence decision making of
business and application owners.
* Broad knowledge of all A/V technology considerations
(performance, scalability, maintainability, deployment, operations,
quality of service, technology infrastructure, etc.).
* Possesses strong IT knowledge and understanding with deep skills
in IT operations, customer relationship management and managed vendor
relationship management.
* Self-motivated, detail oriented and organized.
* Strong mix of good communications, customer service, and
technical skills
* Ability to effectively plan and control initiatives.
* Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) and Visio
