Tri-State is a Denver based progressive and rapidly growing non-profit consumer owned wholesale supplier of electric power to forty-four distribution cooperatives in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and New Mexico. With over 1100 employees, Tri-State operates and maintains fossil fuel power plants with owned coal-fired capacity of 1826 megawatts, gas turbines with 526 megawatts of capacity, and over 5000 miles of high voltage transmission lines.
Responsible for managing and directing application systems projects and database administration activities in support of corporate Information Technology activities.
* Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Technology, Computer Science or related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ten (10) years of progressive related Information Technology experience, which includes five (5) years' supervisory experience.
* Experience with Oracle databases, TCP/IP, VMS, UNIX, DEC Pathworks. Windows is desirable.
* Extensive knowledge of the development of computer applications and database administration; expertise in client/server environment is desirable.
* Extensive knowledge of large scale computer systems, networks, and workstation hardware and software.
* Working knowledge of programming languages SQL, SAS, Oracle Forms and other 4th generation languages.
* Ability to conduct successful negotiations and enhance and maintain effective relationships between functional areas and staff.
* Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of others in a team environment.
* Ability to assimilate technical information and to communicate it to non technical personnel.
* Working knowledge of budget preparation and administration.
* Working knowledge of hardware and software contracts.
* Willingness to travel as required.
