ABOUT US - We process most of the wastewater for the Denver Metro area and are a nationally recognized leader in our industry. We have a 240-mile interceptor sewer system and treatment facilities for 185 million gallons per day of flow.

THE OPPORTUNITY - Responsible for the development, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, backup and restoration and support of the District's Oracle relational database management systems and Oracle's E-Business Suite of applications, which include AP, PO, GL, CE, PRC. Responsible for both the maintenance and monitoring of resources on Virtual based Operating Systems, both LINUX and Windows.

QUALIFICATIONS -
Required - Bachelor's degree in computer science or management information systems, or a combination of relevant education and experience; and possess a considerable amount of work experience in the information technology field, with demonstrated expertise in Oracle database administration. Able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of database analysis and design concepts, and a working knowledge of appropriate programming languages (as defined by current District needs), computer hardware and software, and peripheral equipment. Ability to work independently in solving complex problems and to work extended hours and alternative schedules as necessary to perform upgrades and other database and applications maintenance as needed.

Desired - Previous experience with LINUX and Windows operating systems, and Oracle based applications including Oracle E-Business Suite and Enterprise Manager. Experience with VMWare, a high available operating system solution for both LINUX and Windows. Experience using Microsoft Project Management tools and other Project Management tools.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1. Maintains and performs database administration tasks required for efficient database operations. Monitors and optimizes Oracle database performance; maintains database security; identifies and works with Technical Services to implement optimal backup solutions. Provides all appropriate Oracle database and Oracle E-Business Suite documentation, specifically pertaining to database cloning, application cloning, backup and restoration, and E-Business Suite Customizations.

2. Investigates, obtains and implements as needed, software updates for the Oracle database servers to ensure that the District's Oracle databases are maintained at the appropriate levels to meet the database based applications requirements and to also ensure that the databases remain in an Oracle supported status. Keeps Programming/Applications Support Supervisor aware of any de-support notices and security patches on the District's Oracle databases and Oracle based Applications, including the E-Business Suite.

3. Coordinates database application development including the creation and installation of all production, test and development databases. Functions as the lead technical resource for the development of database naming conventions to be used by all technical staff.

4. Responsible for evaluation and implementation of select District Oracle database applications to include upgrades and patches.

5. Works with other technical and non technical staff members to install, test and implement other Oracle database based application software upgrades and enhancements. Provide on-going support for Oracle E-Business Suite.

6. Investigates advanced technical directions in database technology and development toolsets and recommends proposed technical directions to the Programming/Applications Support Supervisor.

7. Perform as project lead for selected database applications to include the development of functional requirements and programming for select IT projects. Ability to create and manage detailed MS project schedules, manages consultant schedules and budgets, manage milestones, manage multiple projects simultaneously.

8. Performs other administrative and technical duties as needed.
