Colorado Access - Manager

We are currently seeking a Manager, Applications and Data Services responsible for the overall lifecycle of strategic in-house developed business applications, databases, and support to production processing. This position is accountable to provide the business with timely, useful, and stable solutions to meet the needs of the business. Through team building, mentoring, and coaching, this management position will cultivate a staff of highly skilled, efficient, and productive developers whose product solutions will drive the efficiencies of business processing, reporting, and workflow.

Essential Functions Summary:

·         Direct the design, development, and deployment of application software and enterprise level databases over a cross-platform environment to effectively and efficiently support Colorado Access business needs. Ensure the delivery of stable solutions by maintaining rigorous testing and QA processes. Monitor the effectiveness of all development efforts through usage, performance, and error reporting as well as user satisfaction surveys. Establish and maintain development methodologies, tool-sets, and processes.

·         Facilitate the appropriate processes and escalations to ensure enterprise database efforts are aligned with current business needs. Enforce data ownership by identifying company wide departmental accountabilities and roles around corporate data. Ensure data integrity by maintaining these data ownership roles through stringent processes and security mechanisms.

·         Motivate and provide leadership and vision to subordinates ensuring each employee is performing to the best of their ability. Provide a structure and environment that promotes career growth and learning.

·         Provide support to the overall corporate production processing environment. Ensure that all processing is as efficient and automated as possible. Manage dependencies, errors, and notifications to ensure accurate and timely data processing.

·         Remain continuously aware of business, technical, and infrastructure issues and develop creative solutions to business needs. Ensure that solutions are agile, flexible, and scalable in order to extend their useful life as business and technical demands change.

Requirements/Experience:

·         College degree in Computer Science or other closely related field.

·         Experience in Applications and/or Database/Data-warehouse development methodologies, architectures, and deploying advanced technology solutions for mission critical business processes.

·         Minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience in Information Technology in an application software development or database / data-warehouse development environment.

·         Minimum of five (5) years experience in a technology leadership role.

·         Minimum of three (3) years in a management or supervisory role over staff that develop, support, and/or maintain mission critical applications and/or databases.

·         Understanding of Database Management software (Oracle preferred), systems components and Database Management tools. 

·         Understanding of n-tier software application development. Related experience or education may be substituted for part of the above requirements.
