Staples - Microstrategy Administator

JOB SUMMARY:

* Administration, maintain and support Staples* Microstrategy Environments - Microstrategy Web, Intelligence Server and Narrowcast services.
* Ensure high performance and availability of Microstrategy Business Intelligence infrastructure with efficient use of system resources (CPU, Memory, Cache, Storage, etc.)
* Establish and follow best practices around Capacity Planning, Performance Monitoring and Tuning.
* Administer Microstrategy projects, servers, security, users and object migrations.
* Provide technical expertise as a Liaison between developers, support team and vendor technical support.


QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
* 5-8 years of hands-on Information Systems experience in large Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Business Intelligence (BI) environments
* 3-5 years of experience with Microstrategy server administration and implementation
* Strong hands-on data warehousing and BI experience with experience in Oracle, DB2, SQL Server databases
* Proficiency with dashboards, scorecards, reporting data models, security/access controls and integration.
* Knowledge working with Linux/Windows Operating systems and Tomcat/Apache web servers with the ability to write and understand scriping languages.
* Strong RDMS and SQL programming skills with ability to analyze and debug queries
* Very strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced team environment, interacting with multiple groups on a daily basis
* Desirable:
- Experience with Microstrategy portal integration, SDK
- Experience with Netezza
- ITIL practices
