Trimble seeks a User Experience Design Lead to develop, design and manage the implementation of an enhanced end-user experience. This person will develop innovative, best-in-class and easy-to-use machine control solutions targeted at precision agriculture user. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who has mastered multiple design-related skills and is passionate about usability and end-user design.
Key responsibilities: • Represent the "User Experience" and translate customer requirements into defined specifications. • Influence product strategy and direction and work with Marketing and Product Manager to translate business and marketing goals into the best experiences for our business. • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Product Management, Engineering and Quality Engineering to conceptualize, design and prototype ideas. • Own the design of the most impactful user interface and participate in the product definition process with the product development team. • Develop and maintain design mockups, user workflows, prototypes, specifications, screen layouts and other design documents. • Work with feature development teams to make sure that the workflow reflects the customer's needs and ensure consistency among features. • Develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary products and bring new ideas to the team. • Define innovative user interfaces and interaction styles which result in improved user productivity. • Ensure consistency in implementation of future state designs with iterative development of usability and design standards • Oversee planning and execution of usability testing

Required skills: • High degree of creativity, interaction design and problem solving ability. • Excellent written and presentation skills as well as demonstrable visual communication skills. Must have ability to communicate message through software design. • Team player - experience working with various departments within a product team, especially design professionals and developers. • Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage work load, and meet critical project milestones and deadlines. • Expertise in visual design and prototyping. • A portfolio of work or samples of interaction design work is required

Experience: • 5+ years as an interaction designer or user interface designer. • Designing interactive applications for embedded device platforms. • User research including formal usability testing. • Developing user models and application designs from initial conception to product release. • With all types of user-centered design methodologies and processes including: – Development of customer use cases and extraction of requirements. – Diagramming of customer interaction flows. – Design and implementation of usability studies. – Creating wireframe mockups. – Visual design and/or mobile design experience a plus.

Education: • Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, User Interaction Design, Information Design, or a related discipline.
