JOB SUMMARY:
* Leads the development, deployment, integration and programming of cross platform infrastructure tools with an emphasis on Server Automation and RunBook Automation
* Working closely with Engineering, Application and Operations teams, research, design and implement operations automation systems that replace manual tasks
* Work cross functionally to gather requirements and lead the evaluation of current and perspective tools to meet business requirements.
* Identify areas for development or improvement in policies and procedures
* Document required test data
* Mentor on-shore and off-shore associates
* Individual will be required to be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, Masters Degree a plus
* 8-10 years overall technical experience
* Experience with Server Automation and RunBook Automation technologies highly desirable (OpsWare/BladeLogic)
* Experience scripting in Shell, PERL and VB a must
* 3 to 5 Years of experience administering Windows and Open Systems (preferably AIX, HP-UX and/or RedHat Linux)
* Experience architect end-to-end solutions, must be able to see the big picture
* Experience working cross functionally across multiple platform engineering disciplines (Linux, UNIX, Windows, I-Series and Middleware technologies)
* Strong Process improvement skills a must
* ITIL Certification a big plus
* Working Knowledge of event correlation and monitoring tools such as HP BPM, HP NNM, SiteScope, Robot and Foglight
* Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Must have experience identifying and documenting best practices for technical applications and evaluating work flows
* Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
* Good written and oral communications
* Demonstrated documentation skills
* Experience working with and monitoring Database Technologies (MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2) a plus
* Working Knowledge of J2EE and messaging technologies also a plus
