Intrado is currently searching for an Associate Software Engineer for our Longmont office.

Responsible for developing, testing, and modifying applications, operating systems, database related concerns, or other business software; perform modifications, testing, and debugging tasks on vendor-supplied utilities and packages to the best suit operating environment; provide quality beginner technical level deliverables; maintain necessary design and testing documentation.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
Software Development and Processes - Develop, test, and modify application, operating systems, database related or concerning other software while adhering to department policies and procedures
* Participate in Technical reviews including code reviews, design analysis, and software requirements feasibility
* Interpret and understand database schemes
* Perform software analysis and create the appropriate design specifications for assigned project area
* Perform modifications, testing, and debugging, tasks on vendor-supplied utilities and packages for operating environments concerning the design of the systems
* Keep up-to-date on department procedures in order to answer questions or complete tasks
* Perform software installations and setups according to established departmental policies and procedures
* As assigned, provide management with status reports detailing their status and timelines throughout assigned project tasks
Testing, Implementation and Documentation - Participate in the activities involved in developing a comprehensive and logical test plan for systems using appropriate tools to ensure established standards are utilized
* Identify unit tests to assess conformity of design to specifications, resolving requirements and design conflicts
* Participate in the activities related to performing performance tests to ensure program modifications do not exhaust resources, causing slow downs and response time delays
* Produce quality documentation during all development phases in a timely manner in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
* Provide quality beginner technical level deliverables
Problem Resolution - Proactively participate in the activities involved in quality resolution of problems related to area of responsibility
* Respond with a sense of urgency to problems escalated to employee's level
* Place the highest priority on providing quality customer service by, ensuring the unique needs of customers are met
* Perform appropriate level troubleshooting
* Ensure quality resolution and thorough and accurate documentation of customer issues
* Provide analysis and feedback to management staff and appropriate departments regarding recurring problems, recommending improvements aimed at reducing future occurrences of problems
* Participate in creating, administering, and continuously updating procedures for resolution of all related issues
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.

Education
Bachelor*s degree in computer science, computer engineering, MIS, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience
Minimum one year increasingly responsible programming experience using a standard coding language and/or platform required.
Minimum one year experience writing detailed program designs for medium to large sized projects preferred.
Advanced work in pursuit of a Bachelors degree (e.g., junior and senior year, etc.) in computer science, MIS, or a related field can be substituted for one year of programming experience

Technical Knowledge
Based on area of responsibility and departmental need, knowledge of: one program platform is required (Tandem, Windows, Unix, or Web) and/or one standard programming language is required (i.e., JAVA, J2EE, .NET, C/C++/C#, SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Informix, Data Comm, Visual Basic, C++, COBOL, HTML,XML/VXML, PERL, etc.)
A working knowledge of telephony protocols CAS, ISDN, SS7 and voice over IP protocols H.323, SIP is preferred.
Based on area of responsibility and department need: Knowledge of J2EE, Swing and JMS NET, ASP.net, MSSQL, C#, OLAP is preferred

Other
Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Visio, Word and Outlook required
Respond to 24-hour/7-day-per-week service needs, as required
