Title of Position: Desktop Administrator



Department: Information Technology



Reports to: Network Services Manager



Position Summary:

The Desktop Administrator provides phone and desktop support to users
in the areas of e-mail, network, standard Windows desktop
applications,
commercial and custom applications. Also serves as the initial point
of contact for troubleshooting hardware/software PC and printer
problems.



Primary Responsibilities:

§ Provide PC, software and telecom technical support to users

§ Deploy, maintain and support desktop computers, telephones, PDAs
and other electronic equipment

§ Perform user account management, system backup management, system
monitoring and other administrative tasks

§ Assist senior IT staff with server and network configuration,
administration and monitoring

§ Create and maintain departmental forms and paperwork dealing with
account security and asset information

§ Utilizes Track IT! Help Desk system to manage all work orders and
projects related to individual tasks

§ Revises current documentation and assist in company-wide system
rollouts

§ Demonstrates and holds others accountable for the organizational
values of: communication, quality, innovation and diversity

§ Other duties as assigned



Qualifications:

§ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or
related degree is preferred

§ Minimum 2 years prior help desk or desktop support experience

§ A+ , Network+ or MCP certification desirable

§ Strong PC, software and network troubleshooting skills

§ Detailed knowledge of Windows XP/2003/2007, Group policies, MS
Office 2003/2007, Adobe, Symantec Ghost and Antivirus, Active
Directory,
wireless workstations, and helpdesk ticketing systems, preferably
Track-It!

§ Strong written and verbal communication skills, dependable, self
starter, eager to learn with strong attention to detail and
documentation

§ Working knowledge of WSUS, Nortel PBX and voicemail

§ Excellent customer service skills

§ Ability to lift and carry computer hardware for deployment
