This financial analyst position will support the manager of finance in the heavy civil construction and mining divisions of Trimble Navigation Limited. These divisions have a full portfolio of positioning and machine control hardware, software and services sold through our dealer distribution channels worldwide.
The divisional finance team is responsible for all of the FP&A and divisional accounting with support from central finance and accounting groups.
Primary Duties
Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary
Analyze inventory movements and mix changes, warranty costs, and divisional allocations
Review various contractual arrangements and monthly transactions to determine proper revenue and expense recognition for hardware, software and services.
Analyze profit &loss for period-over-period changes in revenue, expenses and foreign currency rates
Develop annual / quarterly profit & loss models for forecast and planning
Prepare and present financial results in periodic business reviews
Contribute to acquisition planning and integration
Work directly with shared service, accounting, finance, product, and operational personnel
Develop and distribute reports as needed
Ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
Experience with hi-tech manufacturing cost accounting
Experience with software revenue recognition
5+ years of professional experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with strong accounting skills
CPA or MBA with accounting experience
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Oracle R12 experience
Proficiency with Cognos or Hyperion
Detail oriented self-starter with solid analytical thinking and excellent communication skills
Have a passion for understanding the business and the ability articulate financial results in terms that yield action
