McKesson - DBA

The Enterprise Information Solutions Support team is seeking a Customer Support DBA to be part of a team that resolves complex database issues in a 24x7 environment.​

This position will be based in Westminster, CO (preferred); Charlotte, NC; or Alpharetta, GA.​  Flexible schedule to allow for mandatory pager rotation.​


Position Description

Responsible for providing technical and functional support to customers.​ Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in software.​ Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to software engineering/​ design engineering.​  Provides support to customer/​users where the product is highly or complex or technical in nature.​

Provides technical support for McKesson products operating in a UNIX, client/​server environment on Oracle database systems.​  Solutions are highly complex and considered mission-critical in the healthcare industry, requiring rapid resolution.​


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
6+​ years experience providing technical support to product support teams, field engineers and technicians.​


Critical Skills

Experience in customer facing technical support role

UNIX System architecture and commands

Scripting experience

Oracle RAC experience

Virtual SAN environments

ERP environments

Performance tuning and OEM reporting

Experience in a 24 X 7 environment


Additional Knowledge & Skills

MS SQL experience  is highly desired (2008 R2)

Programming experience (ex.​ C, C+​+​, Perl)

Web /​ portal applications (.​net framework)

Working knowledge of Business Objects

Healthcare industry experience

Ability to quickly learn new, complex technologies

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to prioritize and demonstrate time management skills

Ability to work effectively with customers in high pressure situations

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work on a team


Education
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting software and/​or customer service on computer systems.​

Certifications/​Licensure

Professional DBA certifications a plus
