We are currently looking for a Applications Developer II responsible for the design, programming, building, testing, maintenance, and release management of Colorado Access business application software systems. This position will also participate in defining requirements for business problems and opportunities of a diverse nature and low to medium complexity.
Essential Functions Summary:
· Develop and maintain and support Java SE applications as well as possible Java EE applications that support the enterprise.
· Participate in the design, development and maintenance of database objects, models and code.
· Actively participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Methodology of analysis, requirements gathering and documentation, design, development, code reviews, integration and release management.
· Actively participate in and demonstrate support of all Colorado Access and department quality initiatives and the department communication strategy.
Requirements/Experience:
· B.S. in Computer Science and five years progressive work experience in a related field.
· Equivalent combination of experience and/or education may substitute with a preference for six years progressive relevant work experience.
· 3-5+ years of experience developing Java applications.
· 3-5+ years of object-oriented software engineering experience.
· 3-5+ years of development experience with JDBC and RDBMS, either Oracle PL/SQL or MS SQL Server.
· 3-5+ years of experience with open source technologies and libraries such as Log4J & Apache Commons.
· 3-5+ years of unit, system & validation testing.
· Experience with ANT, Eclipse, CVS and/or Subversion.
· Proven experience in the full SDLC.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
· Experience with ETL tools or applications is a plus.
· Web Development Experience is a plus.
· Experience working with JSP, HTML, JBoss, Hibernate, AJAX, XML and/or CSS is a plus.
· Experience with and understanding of Java EE patterns is a plus.
· Experience in Relational Database Modeling is a plus.
