TransFirst - Programmer II

TransFirst, LLC, a merchant processing company is currently seeking a
qualified candidate to fill a current opening for a Programmer II. In

REQUIREMENTS:

*Minimum four (4) years programming experience in languages associated
with specific job
*Minimum four (4) years experience in database design, programming in
relational databases.
*Excellent analytical, problem solving, investigative and research
ability as evidenced by experience in the identification of requirements
and the definition, evaluation, and selection of appropriate solutions
to business problems or opportunities
*Experience working in an IT department with varying complexities of
applications, databases, and environments, including both purchased and
in-house software applications
*College degree required.

SUMMARY:
Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems, and devises
computer programs, systems and related procedures to process data.
Prepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis, and submits
recommendations for solution. Prepares program specifications and
diagrams, and develops coding logic flowcharts. Encodes, tests, debugs,
and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with
computer operations and user departments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Responsible for developing and maintaining business application
programs, which support TransFirst internal and external customers.
*Write new program code, maintain existing code using prescribed
specifications.
*Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a
contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted
results in a related part
*Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or
modifications of existing programs.
*Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements,
and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
*Write and maintain programming documentation
*Adheres to standard for development, testing, code promotion and
security
*Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
*Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource
*May require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the
systems being supported.
