Scottrade - QA Engineer, Training Specialist

Scottrade, Inc. has a QA Engineer position available in Westminster, CO. The main purpose of this position is to review and analyze requirements and develop test plans and test cases for applications across Scottrade test and production environments. Execute regression tests to verify business and technical requirements have been met. This position works with Business and IT departments to create the overall test strategy and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities:
• Work with appropriate project teams to review and provide feedback on requirements and application functionality to improve software quality and to create test plans and test cases. Ensure the test cases are properly defined in the QA test tool repository. Work with Automation Development team to determine overall test strategy.
• Mentor junior team members to develop subject matter expertise in application and system functionality. Execute test cases to ensure business and technical requirements traceability and complete test coverage. Act as project lead for small to large sized projects.
• Log defects and work with the Business and IT to prioritize and resolve issues. Notify QA Management of any critical issues or testing impacts and delays.
• Work with Project Managers and QA Management to track and report testing milestones. Notify QA Management of project related risks associated with testing impacts and delays. Mentor junior team members with risk identification techniques and project reporting.
• Create daily and weekly QA Testing Summary reports to provide transparency for QA related activities.
• Attend project requirement and project review meetings as required.
• Participate in testing and documentation of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Comprehensive knowledge of testing methodologies and application debugging from a technical and/or business perspective.
• Strong knowledge of Open Database Connectivity (ODBC).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and team-oriented environment.
• Ability to expand product knowledge and act as a project lead for small to large projects.
• Ability to logically document testing processes, accumulate testing results and publish reports.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including requirements analysis and basic application architecture knowledge.
• Basic level proficiency with programming logic.
• Basic level proficiency with SQL and Oracle databases.
• Basic level proficiency with FIX protocols.
• Basic level proficiency with API's, .NET and Web Services.
• Intermediate level proficiency with AS400 mainframes.
• Intermediate level proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems.
• Intermediate level proficiency testing Web applications with multiple browsers.
• Basic level proficiency with HP Quality Center.
• Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 3-5 years of Software Quality Assurance experience. Experience with defect tracking and test management software required.
• Experience creating and executing test plans and test cases required.
• Automation experience preferred.

Scottrade, Inc. has an IT Training Specialist position available in Westminster, CO. The main purpose of this position is to create, deliver and evaluate training courses, including but not limited to software and customer service for an IT audience. The courses will be created and delivered by Scottrade Training Specialist(s) as well as vendors.

Responsibilities:

* Develop training curriculum to support the development of all associates utilizing Scottrade University & ILT (instructor-led training) with a primary focus on an IT audience.
* Demonstrate consistent effort to collaborate with teammates when needed on project planning, development and implementation to ensure success.
* Serve as a contact for IT associates searching for training opportunities.
* Assist training manager in tracking projects, goals and overall success of training programs.
* Work with department managers to determine training gaps between skill requirements and job performance, including but not limited to IT associates.
* Create a new associate training program within each area of IT.

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in communications, training or Management Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
* 2+ years training experience required.
* 1+ years project management and/or business analysis experience.
* 1+ years software training experience in an IT environment required.
* 1+ years brokerage or financial experience preferred.
