Software Build / Quality Assurance Administrator (Similar to Release Engineer or Build Engineer)

We are seeking an entry level Build Administrator who loves technology and wants to join a motivated, highly-skilled and growing C++ development team. This person will be responsible for our daily software/installation builds and will also have some limited QA responsibilities. ** Our ideal candidate is a recent Computer Science graduate or someone with 1 - 3 years of software build experience in a Windows/Visual Studio environment **

Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC) develops high-tech simulation training programs used by doctors, nurses and other medical professionals. MSC has been providing quality training for more than 10 years and is currently the worldwide leader in endovascular and cardiac simulation training. MSC provides quality training programs using high-end Windows PCs paired with custom hardware. These simulation-based training programs are developed in-house using C++ with an emphasis on solid OO design. Technologies used in the gaming industry are incorporated in order to provide realistic patient anatomies and physics.

About the Position

Software Build Administrator: The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee daily software builds for multiple ongoing projects. Our software is built in a Windows environment using Visual Studio and automated by CruiseControl. The code is primarily C++ with some C# and other technologies.

The primary duties of this position include:
- Monitoring the automated build process
- Deploying daily installs during development
- Verifying the installed components

Additional responsibilities include fixing simple errors related to the build and install process as well as identifying the resources needed to fix problems outside of the build, install and machine configuration scope. At the end of a development cycle, you will be responsible for creating production release disks and distributing those disks to our field engineering department. Occasional production release support will be necessary.

Quality Assurance Administrator: In addition to the Build Administration responsibilities listed above, a secondary set of responsibilities involve the testing of our software. The primary duties in this area include:
- Scheduling the simulators used in the testing environments
- Keeping the simulation PCs up to date
- First-level troubleshooting of the simulation PCs
- Using Ghost to set up the testing environments on the PCs
- Planning the testing environments necessary for a release
- Performing engineering testing during release cycles

Desired Experience
- Knowledge of C++ in a Windows / Visual Studio environment
- Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience troubleshooting and configuring Windows XP machines
- Must be a team player
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Motivated and eager to learn
- Able to prioritize
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
