Peterson - Designer

Peterson's, an online resource for students who are seeking information
about higher education, is looking for a seasoned UI Designer/Developer
that has demonstrated experience designing comps for web and mobile
platforms and building the front end code to bring them to life. As part
of our Product team, this person will be required to translate business
requirements into functional and visual design. This is a full-time
position based out of our Highlands Ranch, CO office.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Own the user interface design including concepts,
wireframes, visual design, and interaction design 2. Design web and
mobile comps that will translate well cross-browser and cross-device 3.
Work closely with the product team to brainstorm ideas, create and meet
deadlines, and drive tasks to completion 4. Identify reusable design
components and help maintain the Peterson's style-guide 5. Be able to
take source files of design mocks, create necessary assets, and
transform them into pixel-perfect, cross-browser and cross-device
HTML/CSS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or related field or
demonstrated equivalent work experience in a design role

EXPERIENCE: 1. 5 + years experience designing for web or mobile
platforms 2. Must have a design portfolio of past work to show 3.
Experience working in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design
tools 4. Experience creating user-flows and wireframes 5. Past
experience working in an agile development environment 6. Experience
building HTML/CSS using latest development technologies and concepts 7.
Preferred experience with responsive web design

COMPETENCIES - SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: 1. Ability to work well on
your own, with occasional direction 2. A drive to keep up-to-date with
advances in technology 3. A clean and modern visual design eye 4.
Ability to flexibly and pleasantly change direction quickly 5.
Demonstrate self-motivation and organizational skills 6. Creativity with
an eye towards detail and perfection of final product
