McGraw-Hill Financial's Xpressfeed Development Team is seeking an experienced and motivated Database Software Engineer-Lead to join our enthusiastic team. This team provides superior financial data solutions products to leading investment and research firms worldwide.
This position will be responsible for feature design, writing code and unit tests, testing and support of new and existing applications, as well as some mentoring of less experienced team members. This role requires heavy hands-on software development in T-SQL and deep experience in the SQL Server environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or relevant experience
• 6+ years programming experience in SQL Server environment
•4+ years SQL Server database design
•Strong SQL tuning skills
•Able to work well individually and with a team
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Strong work ethic, self-starter, and results oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with WebLogic app server environments.
•Object relational mapping concepts & frameworks with Hibernate & Spring
•Some experience in Oracle database
•Some experience in Java programming
•Some experience with Unix
•Experience with financial or investment data products
•Experience writing unit and integration tests.
