Intrado - Database Administrator, Software Engineer

Responsible for providing a quality, high performance database processing environment by defining assigned database tables and coordinating physical changes to computer databases in a timely manner while adhering to established departmental standards and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•Applicants for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
Education

•Associate's degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, computer engineer or a related field is required

•Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, computer engineer or a related field is preferred.
•Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
Experience

•Minimum one year experience in computer science or MIS required, preferably to include database administration experience
Technical Knowledge

•Based on area of responsibility and departmental need, knowledge of: one program platform (Tandem OS, UNIX) is required and knowledge of SQL fundamentals in preferred (i.e., Tandem SQL, Informix, FOCUS, IBM DB2, NT SQL Server, etc.) is preferred. Oracle Streams, RAC, and Data guard experience preferred.

Responsible for working on highly technical, complex projects; research and recommend future technical needs to management in order to provide the most efficient and effective system for the organization while meeting the companies business objectives; participate in business meetings to identify and understand the company*s goals and objectives in order to develop a system that will meet the company*s current and future business needs; define project requirements by meeting with management and end users to gain a thorough understanding of project or project task needs, providing leadership and technical direction during all stages of the project; provide quality customer service that supports efforts of senior software engineer in meeting customer expectations and improves level of service being provided; provide quality intermediate technical level deliverables; maintain necessary design and testing documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
Education
Bachelor*s degree in computer science, computer engineering, MIS, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
Experience
Minimum 3 years increasingly responsible programming experience using a standard coding language and/or platform required.
Minimum 3 years experience writing detailed program designs for medium to large sized projects preferred.
Technical Knowledge
Based on area of responsibility and departmental need, knowledge of: one program platform is required (Tandem, Windows, Unix, or Web) and/or one standard programming language is required (i.e., JAVA, J2EE, .NET, C/C++/C#, SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Informix, Data Comm, Visual Basic, C++, COBOL, HTML,XML/VXML, PERL, etc.) A working knowledge of telephony protocols CAS, ISDN, SS7 and voice over IP protocols H.323, SIP is preferred. Based on area of responsibility and department need: Knowledge of J2EE, Swing and JMS is preferred Based on area of responsibility and department need: Knowledge of .NET, ASP.net, MSSQL, C# is preferred. Based on area of responsibility OLAP may be preferred

Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Visio, Word and Outlook

Expert level Excel and Access including Visual Basic for Applications
