Denver-based Health Language, Inc. (HLI) is the worldwide leader in
developing and delivering state-of-the-art software solutions that
automatically incorporate medical vocabulary and coding standards into
healthcare information technology (HCIT) applications. HLI's Language
Engine Language Engine (LE(r)) allows centralized access to medical
terminology standards and generates mappings to create a common pool of
standardized codes and concepts that enhance patient safety, facilitate
clinical outcomes analysis and accelerate reimbursement. It also
provides standards for modeling, storing, updating and distributing
information consistently for interoperability between hospitals, regions
and countries.

Engineer to join its Content team in the Denver location. This is a

JOB TITLE: Senior Content Engineer



SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Experienced Content Engineer familiar with content management, object
oriented programming and database development/analysis.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Analyze customer and company terminology data at database and
architecture level
* Create applications to analyze and transform data, with emphasis
on Java
* Design processes to automate the inclusion of terminology data
into Health Language systems
* Participate in the evaluation and development of clinical
content projects/deliverables (including written and verbal
presentations)
* Process medical informatics data such as terminologies (e.g.,
ICD, SNOMED) for distribution to US and international customers
* Work effectively with client representatives in order to
identify business needs, project scope and processes
* Provide training and documentation.



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

* Experience with object oriented programming, emphasis on Java
* Strong understanding of database technologies including SQL
* Database development/analysis experience (SQL Server experience
preferred)
* Experience with data manipulation and analysis
* Bachelors degree in computer science or related area such as
medical informatics
* Four to seven years IT, development, content management
experience.



DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

* Experience with healthcare related standards such as SNOMED CT,
ICD-9-CM and others
* Experience with development in .Net.
* Experience in employing information loading and extraction; text
and data mining.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work as a team player with colleagues.
