Skills: A minimum of 10 years experience in: Unix Shell Scripting (HP-UX, and Sun Solaris), Expert knowledge of C/C++, Java, Oracle/SQL, Working knowledge of Weblogic is a significant plus. Expert knowledge in HP-UX, SUN and Linux shell scripting languages including Bash, ksh, and perl. Knowledge of XP-12000 and HP-EVA disc arrays preferred. Understanding of mediation, rating and billing processes. Four-year college degree or equivalent experience. Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills. Strategic BSS Delivery

The Systems Administrator position is responsible for ongoing application and data support including assisting in monitoring of processes, data updates, file transfers and troubleshooting the production systems. A primary requirement of this role is an in-depth understanding of the data flow from source to final archive as associated with the Mediation, Rating, and Billing application suite as it applies to the Oracle databases. This role requires collaborating with various technical and business teams within and outside the business stakeholders. This is an extremely fast paced, technical work environment requiring pager and on-call rotation. This role will be required to assume a participatory and occasional lead role in the expansion of the teams involvement with mediating, rating and billing transactions of Comcast Telephony / VoIP products, VOD, AUPM, Wireless, and the collection and correlation and processing of IMS events.

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

* Employ Subject Matter Expert (SME) skills in UNIX shell scripting to assist and support application development resources; and testing and documentation to ensure production standards in all current and future process deployments.

* Troubleshooting production issues for the C++ based VOIP billing processes; Java based web applications, and secured file transfer technologies.
* Address production trouble tickets on a daily basis which include but are not limited to CDV customer bill issues, recovery/restoration of data, and investigation into processing errors presented by internal and external partners.
* Proactively identify Production Support process, monitoring, and reporting improvements.
* Work closely with system test team and user acceptance test team.
* Implement and maintain accurate and reliable monitoring and alarming on all production processes.
* Participate and occasionally lead recovery and restoration exercises as required.
* Work within Development and Operations support environments.
* Propose Productions Support Standards for efficient and consistent use of tools.
* Contribute to the creation of project plans through the identification of activities and tasks required to achieve successful systems implementation.
* Work within a structured software development process.
* Communicate and provide guidance to other software engineers and consultants as required.
* Work closely with clients and technical personnel to define and document business cases, statements of work for projects, and business and/or technical requirements.
* Communicate weekly status to Manager.
* Comply with all established procedures and policies of Comcast.
* Assume role on rotational on-call schedule.
* Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
* Perform other duties and functions as assigned
