Opportunity
Anark Corporation is setting a new standard for interactive digital
media performance and visual quality with the Anark Media Platform,
the industry's first truly integrated multimedia platform.

Anark is looking for a User Experience Architect with at least two
years of experience leading consulting engagements to uncover,
design and develop the layout, organization and hierarchy for
complex websites, web applications, and computer/web based training
(CBT/WBT) applications. Right now we need a User Experience
Architect with the knowledge to use information gathered from client
meetings, research and competitive analyses, to lead a team to
develop wireframes, user stories, use cases, storyboards and other
visuals to represent the layout, flow and organization of complex
web sites and/or web/CBT/WBT applications. Furthermore, the ideal
candidate will be able to work closely with the client and the
creative staff to translate usability requirements into practical
designs that accommodate usability as well as branding and design
needs.

Required Knowledge and Skills
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill, and/or ability required to be successful at this job.

• Excellent client-facing consultative skills including the
ability to lead client meetings.
• Understanding of state-of-the-art commercial software
development, including object oriented technology, agile methods and
appropriate use of design patterns
• Desire to learn and understand the business of Anark's
clients.
• Ability to design within or around existing constraints
where necessary, coping with the challenges of distributed
development.
• Ability to learn new methodologies and embrace, formulate
and promote evolving "best practices."
• Equally comfortable behind a whiteboard or a keyboard, and
possesses the ability to teach an audience the principles of usable
design and information architecture.
• Knowledge of current usability research, theories and
methodologies (especially user-centered design processes), and an
intuitive feel for how human factors activities provide unique value
throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ability to channel the passion for good design into
exploring and comprehending the needs of the user.
• Deep knowledge of user interface design principles,
information design, and web design.
• Knowledge of–as well as hands-on experience with–user
interface evaluation techniques, including usability testing.
• Knowledge of general business strategy and specific
knowledge of web strategy, including the ability to apply that
knowledge to meet client needs.
• Familiarity with usability-related research services,
periodicals, thought leaders and industry best practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for
effective communication to clients and project team members,
including prior experience writing white papers, proposals, research
reports, articles and case studies.
• Expertise in gathering, analyzing, and applying primary and
secondary research.
• General knowledge of various web technologies and concepts
and the proper application of them.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within
deadlines.
• Willing to travel for client calls and work off-site as
needed.

Required Education and Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or closely
related discipline such as Human-Computer Interaction, Human
Factors, Psychology (Cognitive or Experimental), Interface Design,
or Computer Science.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in the web/software development industry, CBT,
WBT; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master's degree in related field is a plus.
• Domain expertise in one or more of the following areas is a
plus: CBT, Aviation, Aerospace, Defense.
• Experience with of state-of-the-art commercial software
development, including agile methods, object oriented technology and
appropriate use of design patterns
