Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Monitor and maintain production database to ensure service levels
and availability of all site features and functions
* Gain a thorough understanding of all Newsgator production
components in order to analyze impact of alerts and other system
messages
* Work with application development and support teams to diagnose
complex problems and drive resolution
* Take corrective action for operational problems
Experience
* 5+ years professional experience administering, troubleshooting
and tuning SQL Server databases in a production environment is
mandatory
* Experience administering very large production databases (multiple
terabytes)
* Hands-on, professional experience with SQL Server 2005 is highly
desirable
* Ability to learn quickly, work autonomously and address any issues
that arise day or night. A willingness to provide on call support in
case of emergencies or other unscheduled issues at the data center
* Excellent analytical skills to identify and solve problems
* Strong aptitude for working cooperatively with a team of
application engineers and other operations personnel

* Installs and maintains data center infrastructure for a commercial
web application, including server hardware, power components and
storage devices
* Resolves critical system issues including notification,
coordination and dispatch of individuals from various functional
groups within the organization
* Closely follows quality control policies for all production
software loads and data center installations/modifications
* Maintains systems monitoring tools and improves monitoring
capabilities over time
* Works with vendors as necessary
* Works agreed upon schedule according to on-call production support
rotation
Experience
* 5+ years of proven experience supporting data center
infrastructure, including web servers, application servers, database
servers, SANs, etc. Experience must include support for commercial,
externally-facing web applications in a 24x7 operational environment
* 3+ years of proven commercial experience implementing Microsoft
technologies, specifically IIS and SQL Server
* The ability to learn quickly, work autonomously and address any
issues that arise day or night – must possess a willingness to
provide on call support in case of emergencies or other unscheduled
issues at the data center
* Experience maintaining systems monitoring tools such as OpenView,
Tivoli or NetIQ
* Excellent analytical skills to identify and solve problems
* Strong aptitude for working with a team of application engineers
and other operations personnel
* Ability to write scripts in some administrative language is highly
desirable

software coding to be the primary function of this position, working
under guidance from the creator of both products.
Qualifications

applications with Delphi 4 (or later)
* 2+ years of commercial experience using HTML and CSS
