Great-West Life - System Administrator
UNIX Operations at Great-West Life is hiring a Senior UNIX System Administrator. We are looking for an experienced UNIX System Administrator to support the following applications in our growing server environment: Oracle, SAP, IVR, Web, Email, DNS, LDAP. Candidates will be responsible for installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance and support of the Unix/Linux landscapes across multiple data centers. The administrator will support business processing requirements and meet service level agreements. Provide after hours on-call support on a rotating basis. Candidates must have good analytical and problem solving skills, communicate well and be eager to learn.
Essential Job Functions:
Administer large network of physical and virtual AIX, Linux and Solaris servers.
Perform hardware and OS level problem identification and resolution.
Plan and execute hardware and OS upgrades and maintain system configurations.
Work with business units to assess needs and recommend solutions.
24X7 on-call support rotation.
Required Skills:
5+ years of UNIX System Administration experience.
Good customer service skills.
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Methodical problem solving abilities
Work independently and within a team structure
Ability to establish priorities and work multiple tasks.
Highly Preferred Skills:
AIX 5.3 and 6.1 virtualization (virtual LPARs).
IBM Power5, Power6, Power7 and HMC hardware familiarity.
NIM and VIO server administration.
Solaris 10 and Solaris zones administration.
Solaris Jumpstart.
Red Hat Linux 4 & 5 administration.
Red Hat Linux virtualization (KVM).
Red Hat Satellite Server and kickstart.
Scripting in Korn Shell and Perl.
TCP/IP, SSH, FTP,
Desired Skills:
LDAP administration.
Postfix email administration.
Proofpoint email security.
Bind/DNS administration.
Veritas Volume Manager.
Oracle database and applications.
