EchoStar - Hardware Design Engineer

Summary:          
EchoStar has an opening for a Digital Hardware Design Engineer in Englewood, CO who will be responsible for all hardware aspects of satellite receiver product development. 
 
Responsibilities:
Engineering Lead for  satellite set top box  product development Design, debug, test, and characterize digital circuits for satellite receivers and other consumer electronics for high volume production Highly integrated SoC’s DDR Memory Flash Memory High Speed Interfaces: HDMI, Ethernet, USB, SATA Board level system integration of RF, Analog, and Power SystemsInteraction and coordination with other design, test, and manufacturing groups Write embedded test software in C or Assembly for use in design validation Solve technical problems with little supervision Work independently or as part of a team on large scope projects Contribute to project scheduling Develop initial design concepts for new product development Provide engineering and cost input during product scoping and planning Mentor other Engineers Some OCONUS travel  Basic Requirements:
BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience Minimum 4 years of board level circuit design experience Minimum 4 years of Schematic capture experience Minimum 2 years of PCB layout practices Preferred Qualifications:
Group or team leader experience Digital design experience in a fast-paced high volume environment MPEG audio and video experience C/C++ experience in an embedded environment Embedded Linux experience Familiarity with high speed memory and interconnect interfaces Strong Leadership skills Good communication and problem solving skills Strong digital design skills Proficiency with lab test equipment Effective at developing presentations and delivering them in front of a cross functional group Ability to conduct and lead technical design reviews
