As a key member of ViaSat’s fast-paced Software Development team, you will use your demonstrated experience in design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance of both the front end (GUI) and back end (server) components of complex n-tier web applications. You are a problem solver and enjoy being part of an environment that is constantly called upon to resolve issues in real time.  You’re in this with your team and you don’t mind providing support on an on-call rotational basis. Experience/Skills Required
Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in a software development, test automation or configuration management environment.
• Interactive web user interface design and implementation experience utilizing one or more of the following: Python, GWT, Java, Javascript, AJAX, JSON, CSS and CGI.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and standards such as TCP/IP routing, DNS, LDAP and DHCP, as well as familiarity with key networking standards such as DOCSIS and/or WiMax.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• Travel up to 10%

Preferences:

• Design and development of back-end/web services/server side software utilizing one or more of the following: Python, Java, Spring, Hibernate J2EE containers, SOAP and XML-RPC.
• RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL) development and basic administration.
• Ability to create scripts for a variety of purposes.
• Good understanding of software development processes.
