The individual will be involved in the design, development and support of various transaction system, reporting and data warehousing solutions provided by The TriZetto Group to its client base. Support includes both implementation and development activities. This position will be primarily responsible for design, development, implementation and/or support of the underlying databases used to deliver the above mentioned solutions. Activities include:
- Install, configure, and maintain databases on Windows and AIX
- Create migration strategies for data for product release upgrades
- Conduct performance tuning in conjunction with the project teams
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data base development requirements with the development team
- Perform database applications, backups, maintenance, and disaster recovery
Requirements:
- Self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work without significant levels of direct supervision.
- Must be able to simultaneously work in at least two different technical environments (i.e. Sybase and Oracle, etc.).
- Ability to visualize, design and implement solutions to health care business reporting problems desirable.
- Understanding of data structures and relationships as they relate to any of the TriZetto supported systems is a plus.
- At least 5 years of previous database administration experience in an implementation or production environment.
- Knowledge of Sybase v12/v12.5 is required. Knowledge of Oracle (9i/10g), and/or Microsoft SQL Server is desirable.
- Experience in software development, code optimization, and code review is also required.
- Experience in the health care industry a plus.
