REPORTS TO: Manager, Database Services
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ideal candidate will be skilled in the areas of data modeling,
physical database design, troubleshooting, performance tuning,
monitoring, maintenance, migrations, recovery methodologies and
contingency options. The job will also involve the challenge of
auditing the current environments, capacity planning, and providing
best practices for the future production/development/test
environments, which may include establishing new standards and
procedures.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
* Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting
Production/Development Oracle databases in a UNIX/Linux environment.
* Data Modeling, SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX Shell, PERL & JDBC programming
skills
* Oracle 9+
* Recovery Manager (RMAN)
* BSCS or equivalent experience
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS:
* Knowledge of AIX & Linux
* Embarcadero or ERWin
* OLTP/DSS
* Design and Tuning
* Peoplesoft Application DBA Experience
* Netbackup
* Clustering Solutions
* J2EE
