Basic Job Purpose: Responsible for overall evaluation, tactical and
strategic planning, design, recommendation, testing, implementation, and
capacity, performance and availability of the network architecture while

IT Infrastructure Engineer

Basic Function(s)

Provides daily ongoing deployment, configuration, support,
administration, maintenance and technical solutions to various
technology components that make up the IT Infrastructure environment.


Principal Responsibilities

*        Develops or modifies IT Infrastructure to meet business
objectives.

*        Maintain and implement technical solutions, specifications,
and documentation for various sized projects or daily support
initiatives.

*        Works with multiple customers, stakeholders, and system owners
to produce requirements, determine feasibility, analyze cost/benefits
requirements, and recommend design solution options.

*        Provide training and technical support for users with varying
levels of IT knowledge.

*        Completes routine preventative measures and
maintains/monitoring network security.

Education and Experience Requirements

*        Bachelor's degree in Information Science or related field
and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

*        Experienced with Windows Server2000/2003/2008, Active
Directory, SQL Server, Network, Switching/Routing, Firewalls, Data
Archival, LAN, WAN, VoIP, MPLS, Monitoring and Messaging Systems.

IT Infrastructure Engineer - SWAT


Additional Basic Function(s)

Partner with the business to improve organizational understanding of IT
incidents and their impact on the business.  Work towards comprehensive
management of Incidents through tracking, analysis and reporting.



Additional Principal Responsibilities

*        Ensure regular customer focused communications (both during
and post-event) are provided and appropriate (alerts, statements,
briefings)

*        Serves as a liaison between other technical staff, management,
users, and vendors regarding critical events, and driving to timely
resolution.

*        Translates technical detail into business relevant language.

*        Provide analysis of incident data and communication of that to
technical groups and business stakeholders.

*        Interface with all relevant teams to ensure accurate
completion, review and approval of all event analysis documentation, in
addition to maintaining/updating process documents and templates.

Additional Key Skills, Qualifications and Traits

*        Strong written and verbal communication skills for Management
Level communication skills both written and verbal

*        Strong analytical skills and experience using tools like Excel
for data analysis.

*        5+ years working in a large scale IT environment as a
technical resource in an infrastructure or application development team.

*        Incident/Problem Management experience is preferred.

Additional Education and Experience Requirements

*        Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information
Systems or related fields and/or equivalent combination of education and
experience.

*        In depth working knowledge of Active Directory, IIS,
WINS/DHCP/DNS, TCP/IP, Windows Server 2003/2008, VMware Infrastructure
4.0, SAN (HBA fiber and iSCSI), and NAS.

*        Experience implementing and maintaining enterprise scale
systems with High Availability Configurations (Clustering, Load
Balancing, Fault Tolerance, etc.), Systems Configuration Management,
Optimization Tuning, and Monitoring.

*        Preferred background working in security focused environments
with skills in audit remediation and systems hardening.

*        Experience with scripting, automation, Cisco UCS, or PKI a
plus.



Additional Education and Experience Requirements

*        Has a solid understanding of CM methodologies and best
practices (ITIL) as well as experience developing and enhancing complex
processes.

*        Significant change management or build engineer experience. 

*        Knowledge of Help/Systems iSeries products, Softmenu, Team
Foundation Server or similar change management tools. 

*        A solid understanding of job scheduling as well as job setup
and troubleshooting experience.
