Summary:
The successful candidate must have 5+ years experience as a production Oracle DBA on UNIX/LINUX, with a proven track record in administrating large databases. In this role, you will work in concert with DBA team members as well as other teams on supporting Oracle databases in a 24x7 environment, with rotating on-call duties after hours.

Responsibilities:

Installation, configuration, migration and upgrading of Oracle databases.

Perform database administration activities including monitoring, schema management, space management, capacity planning, performance tuning, SQL and PL/SQL tuning, database backup and recovery, data replication, and database refresh.

Support production, development and QA databases.

Interacting with Oracle support to resolve issues.

Provide day-to-day support for users & application databases.

Required Skills:


Demonstrated proficiency of troubleshooting techniques and detail-oriented problem diagnosis.

Good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools.

Experience in database change management through the various stages of the development life cycle.

Oracle 9i experience required. Oracle 10g experience is an asset.

Unix shell scripting, SQL & PL/SQL expertise.

Experience with RMAN.

Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and TOAD is desirable.

B.S. in Computer Science or related area of study.
