Job Summary
This position involves designing and developing database objects (e.g. tables, views, functions) to support front end OLTP and reporting applications. The ideal developer will have thorough knowledge of SQL (T-SQL, PL/pgSQL), experience with at least one other SQL language (e.g. PL/Perl), and extensive experience with complex functions, code optimization, and index tuning in SQL. The IT System Analyst is responsible for leading projects in the development and maintenance of application software for business and engineering functions in a client/server environment. * Extensive knowledge of application development, support and maintenance including business, engineering and/or operations, and programming methodology, procedures and concepts.
* Extensive knowledge of Oracle client/server applications development tools, report writers and database. Extensive knowledge of computer operating systems including Windows, VMS, UNIX, and/or Windows NT.
* Extensive knowledge of structured system analysis and design methodologies.
* Extensive knowledge of PC equipment, printers, modems, network and related computer equipment and personal computer software.
* Extensive knowledge of computer network protocols such as TCP/IP, SQL*net, Decnet, LAT, and related protocols.
