Webroot is widely recognized for setting the technology standard by

California is expanding operations. In light of this expansion,
Webroot
is seeking a mid- to senior-level Software Quality Engineer. The SQE
will perform complex QA tasks requiring planning, scheduling and
testing
to assure that developed products meet design specifications and are
within total quality management limits and standards. This SQE will
contribute in Linux/Unix-based edge device and gateway appliance
product
testing including functional testing, some programming/scripting, setup
and configuration of lab environment, performance profiling and systems
tuning. This position requires communication with product developers
and technical support specialists on product issues, workarounds, and
defect resolutions.



RESPONSIBILITIES



* Operate primarily in a Linux/Unix environment

* Write and maintain test cases/harnesses and execute these cases
to meet assigned requirements

* Write detailed defect catalogs into the defect tracking system

* Construct/maintain automated testing framework and other testing
tools to perform performance/stress and load testing suites

* Experience in testing edge appliance or gateway devices a plus

* Work with development team to ensure that the product is fully
tested

* Setup and maintain LAB networking environment required for test
execution





REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



* 4+ years experience in quality engineering

* 3+ years experience working with Linux and/or Unix Operating
Systems

* 3+ years working with network communication protocols (i.e.
HTTP,
FTP, TCP/IP, SSL)

* 3+ years proven work experience with enterprise software
applications

* 2+ years experience working with Software Quality Methodologies,
principles and processes

* 2+ years experience testing extremely highly available and high
performance/throughput systems

* 2+ years experience working with Windows 2K/XP

* 1+ years experience with performance profiling tools (JProbe,
AQtime)

* C/C++ knowledge is a plus

* Extensive experience performance tuning, troubleshooting and
debugging complex, enterprise-class systems software is required.

* Previous programming or white box testing experience a plus

* Experience working with Gateway or Perimeter devices is a plus

* Security industry experience a plus
