Sr. Project Manager Job Summary:
Will plan, direct, and coordinate project activities to ensure project and team objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Coordinates cross-functional projects and assumes a leadership role in shaping priorities, setting and tracking schedules, driving issue resolution, and ensuring quality.
This position requires strong Project Management skills and a thorough understanding of application and infrastructure integration.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
· Work across Technology team to support projects in the following areas:
o Product Development across key products
o Enterprise/Network/Security Teams
o Infrastructure
o Application Support/Release Engineering
o Understand the business fundamentals and be able to interface with Leadership Management on Technology projects.
o Work as a liaison within the Technology team and interface with the Business Leaders, Product Management and all Technology teams to ensure that proper scope, resource pools and key dependencies are being defined and developed.
o Provide leadership, mentoring, and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle.
o Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required tasks, providing early visibility to schedules/milestones that are at risk.
o Build detailed project plans and schedules for products across all Technology processes, independently managing day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large scale projects.
o Compares financial data for practice to that of other practices to that of other practices and seeks ways to maximize revenue.
o Make recommendations to Technology leadership team to define specific product release inputs.
o Directs and coordinates activities for project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule.
o Maintain an overall program level risk and issue log. Facilitates risk mitigation and issue resolution across functional project owners and sponsors.
o Coordinates and facilitates communications with management and across teams.
o Maintain product knowledge to increase efficiency in delivery of products.
o Assists the teams with project best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, execution, project management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.
o Identifies and facilitates opportunities for process improvement.
o May assign and review the work of others on the team
o Serves as key participant in team and client meetings.
o Raises our visibility through involvement in local industry organizations.
o Confronts issues openly and quickly.
o Tactfully communicates sensitive information.
o Provides supportive analysis that impacts the use of resources, but does not have authority to delegate resources.
Required skills:
· Bachelor’s degree and 12 – 15 years professional work experience with 5 years of prior management experience related to healthcare, healthcare supply chain and ERP implementation and integration.
· Thorough understanding of our service offerings, technical preferences, and technical direction.
· Advance knowledge of project management methods and processes.
· Excellent facilitation and organizational skills.
· Work is non-standard, varied and requires strong analytical ability.
· Uses strong analytical skills to solve problems and make decisions based on limited precedents or guidelines.
· Excellent oral and written communications are essential. Ability to communicate and interface at executive management levels, internal and external.
