The Quality Assurance Analyst assists in the creation and maintenance
of an automated testing environment for a financial services web-
based client application. The Analyst interfaces with product
managers, project managers, software developers and other testers to
support the development process. This position analyzes functional
requirements and designs documents in order to write test plans and
test scripts, to trouble-shoot failed tests and to report and track
software defects and issues. The Analyst supports business during
user acceptance testing including responding to questions, training
needs and reviewing found defects. The QA analyst mentors the
Quality Analyst on test documents, software testing principles and
product support, and also:

• Provides support of all products related to the software used
to support our client systems
• Tests new development/defects and coordinates user testing
with the business units to ensure quality and project requirements
are being met
• Reviews system data and product quality to ensure integrity
• Prepares and conducts appropriate automated test scripts on
the most critical client-facing applications
• Works with testing lead to effectively prioritize test
scripts to ensure the most critical 80% of the application is being
tested
• Presents found project defects/potential improvements to
project team participants for review prior to user acceptance
beginning
• Reviews and recommends revisions to client
(External/Internal) documentation
• Mentors other staff members on product demonstrations,
recommendations on test documents and training
• Prepares and conducts automated test scripts on the most
critical client facing applications


Minimum Requirements: A college degree is required along with 2-3
years' experience in Quality Assurance and /or Business Operations.
Must have an intermediate knowledge of the software development life
cycle. A fundamental knowledge of Mercury Functional Testing Tools
including QuicktestPro and WinRunner is required. Knowledge of
financial services industry is preferred.

Must have the ability to communicate the state of a product to
stakeholders in order to analyze risk prior to production. Must be
able to juggle tasks and priorities to meet rapidly changing
deadlines. Must be self-motivated to actively push forth learning
using multiple tactics. Must possess the ability to work relatively
independently once assignments are given.

Must possess a fundamental aptitude for the use of automated testing
tools. Must be able to write test scripts from user requirements and
communicate results to team participants. Must be able to design
basic Excel spreadsheets and Word documents. Familiarity with
Software Query Language (SQL) is a plus.
