Provide technical solutions on a variety of PC and Macintosh hardware
configurations, software packages and on multi-user, multi-network
systems. Provide in-depth technical support on hardware, software,
and network administration. Analyze current and future hardware
needs with respect to client requirements, current networking
environment and future directions of client. Work independently and
in a team environment.

Duties shall include, but not be limited to:
• Expert knowledge and ability to provide advanced
infrastructure maintenance, monitoring, operating, and coordination
of the operation of IT equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting desktop system, printer and
operating problems.
• Consulting and instructing users on hardware and software
questions/issues.
• Collaborate with System and Network Infrastructure teams
• Installs, maintains and upgrades equipment and its associated
infrastructure.
• Runs diagnostic tests to isolate system problems and make
recommendations for potential solutions.
• Responds to error messages, equipment failures and other
concerns from laboratory staff.
• Ensures systems remain operational during stated support
hours.
• Troubleshoots equipment failures.

% of Time:
30% - Perform in-depth testing on new hardware products and advice
revisions to existing products to ensure compatibility with other
software/hardware PC or Macintosh and the current and planned
networks. Document problems and work with IT staff; research
scientists and engineers to achieve viable solutions. Demonstrated
experience in managing projects; excellent written and oral
communication; and ability to coordinate and collaborate with
clients, vendors, and IT team to achieve effective solutions.

30% - Provide technical solutions on a variety of PC and Macintosh
hardware configurations and network environments. Follow Cyber
Security policies and procedures for hardware and software. Train
and mentor technicians. Keep current on technology to best serve the
IT groups/staff in their computing needs.

40% - Provide backup technician support for PC or Macintosh by
installing, configuring and debugging hardware and network software;
maintaining, adapting and repairing network equipment;
interconnecting with networks and other telecommunication services;
employing technical and problem solving skills; and maintaining
accurate network documentation.
