eBags - Web Designer

eBags is seeking an experienced web designer who will play a key role in the digital retailer’s transition to being the ultimate travel retailer. Already selling 70,000 products from 700 brands, eBags.com is poised to showcase experiences and content alongside products to communicate how travel brings joy and enrichment to people’s lives. Due to the rapid adoption of smartphones, this candidate should be well-versed in all facets of mobile design and development.

The Senior Web Designer is responsible for leading the production of creative assets that support the marketing efforts for eBags, including onsite promotional banners, content features, promotional emails, site updates, offsite banners, and social marketing efforts. The senior designer is responsible for producing responsive/adaptive designs for eBags’ industry-leading websites, eBags.com and Handbags.com. This work includes being part of a cross-functional team that brings written business requirements through the entire product development lifecycle and creating world-class designs.

Responsibilities:

Play a lead role in a cross-functional team (including marketing and merchandising) to translate campaign-level business objectives into highly effective online marketing materials. Consistently deliver creative and visually appealing assets that sell effectively, while maintaining a high level of productivity. Work across strategy, design and development teams to create smart, innovative online solutions Capable of creating cross-browser compatible HTML and CSS based upon provided wireframes Shift flexibly from projects which require a high degree of creativity and interpretation to those with narrow requirements and guidelines Stay current with the e-commerce industry, bringing new ideas and best practices to work every day Work as part of a cross-functional team (including design, marketing, site, and merchandising) to translate campaign-level business objectives into highly effective online and mobile marketing materials. Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of digital retail design experience 3+ years designing responsive, adaptive and app deliverables Ideal candidate must be focused on mobile, obsessive about apps, and have an expectation of mobile product design that exceeds expectations. Strong HTML and CSS skills (including cross-browser compatible code) Fluency in current web design/development best practices Experience working in an agile environment Solid experience with Adobe Creative Suite Bootstrap or similar framework experience a plus JavaScript and jQuery experience a plus Strong oral communication skills Hard-working team player, with a willingness to collaborate on projects, provide support when needed and be open to learning new skills Proven ability to meet tight deadlines Note: All candidates must have a web–based portfolio.

Education:

Under the direction of the IT Operations Department management, the Operations and Production Support Analyst is responsible for first and second level response, monitoring, and technical support for our 24*7 websites and IT systems. The IT Operations and Production Support Analyst is a highly valued and critical position at eBags. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain experience with all of eBags world class e-commerce and corporate information systems and platforms, while helping our dynamic and respectful user community resolve technical issues. In addition, the Operations and Production Support Analyst is responsible for effective and efficient logging and troubleshooting of customer problems; and utilizing and contributing to a knowledge base of support solutions.

Essential Functions:

Technical Support
Provide first and second line response, monitoring, internal customer support, ticket documentation and assignment, and problem troubleshooting and resolution in support of our 24*7 websites, IT Systems, and internal customers. Adhere to the 3 Core activities of the IT Opeations Team:

1) Operational Response

Support issue capture and documentation (issue facts, steps to recreate, key stakeholders and attributes, . . .) Impact assessment & communication with affected stakeholders regarding support issues Facilitate prioritization and escalation to ensure issues are addressed with available resources consistent with corporate direction and policy. Follow processes for batch process monitoring, execution, and recovery. Follow and provide input for use-case scenarios for all support interactions with customers, including trouble ticketing, knowledge base, and email channels.

2) Operational Assurance

Perform daily operations processing and operational assurance checklists.

3) Operational Improvement

Work with software development staff in the identification, documentation, mitigation and resolution of all reported bugs or anomalies. Participate in the review of pre- and post-release product changes, new product introductions, and remedial changes that correct production bugs and issues. Contribute to a knowledge base of technical documentation and support users in the accurate and timely resolution of technical problems via posting through threads and new topics. Solicit feedback on those topics from knowledge base users. Job Requirements:
• 1-3 years maximum IT operations and technical support experience.
• Proven problem documentation and analysis skills with strong technical aptitude.
• Proficiency in features and functionality of trouble ticketing systems (Jira), job monitoring and scheduling systems, wiki/knowledge management applications, and various browsers.
• Knowledge and experience with Windows platforms.
• Familiarity (basic ability to read and understand) various technical languages and formats like SQL, XML, EDI, HTML, and web scripting languages (MS Powershell, Perl, Python, Javascript) is preferred.
• Experience with functionality and support of various e-commerce, web, EDI, and other back office applications is preferred.
• Must have strong skills in the following areas: communication and intrapersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, flexibility, and sound decision-making abilities.

• Must be willing to be on call and work on nights and weekends within an every 3-4 week on-call rotational schedule.
