Healthgrades is looking for an exceptionally talented senior designer to be a part of our creative team producing intuitive, simple and emotionally engaging designs across all screens from desktop computers to tablets and smartphone devices. This designer will have experience in both user experience as well as a strong visual design background.
Responsibilities:
Participate in project ideation
Design user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and interactive design techniques
Produce user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications
Work with the creative lead to integrate technology and client's business requirements into design strategies, balancing UI, marketing, and aesthetic interests
Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, project management, business and brand strategists, and software developers
Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented
Qualifications:
At least six years of UX, user interface and visual design experience
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others across the organization
A keen understanding of user behavior as it relates to design
Self-Motivation, excellent communication, an open mind
The ability to thrive in multidisciplinary teams
Skills and ability to balance great design with short deadlines
A love of collaboration and learning
Exceptional design talents with stylistic breadth that demonstrates sensitivity to diverse subject matter from product interaction to software tools and applications to the web
In depth knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to Web-based applications and consumer electronics
A passion for creating products that resonate emotionally with people
Exhibit stylistic breadth, attention to detail, and a balance of beauty, innovation and usability in your designs
Substantial understanding of user interface issues and information architecture is also important
Experience with user-centered research, such as usability testing, contextual inquiry, and field interviews
Ability to successfully design and ensure execution and application of those designs in a fast-paced atmosphere
Familiarity with technical issues around web development and ability to work constructively with development teams
Experience with designing for tablet and smartphone is a must-have
An online portfolio demonstrating strong user experience and visual design skills for large-scale projects
Experience designing with an agile development environment
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Visual Design or related discipline is a plus
