Description:
This position requires a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of
experience in the IT industry. Candidates must have
a very strong background in VMware and related virtualization
technologies and possess detailed working knowledge as
deployed in a mission-critical, multi-site enterprise environment.
Primary Responsibilities (Role):
Develop and enhance enterprise VMware engineering standards for a
multi-site organization, including ESX, P2V, operating system, hardware
and server build (host, guest) standards.
Develop technical partnerships with key support, architecture, and
operations teams
Diagnose VMware platform issues in complex, business-critical
environments.
Provide 2nd and 3rd-level support for an enterprise-wide VMware
distributed server platform, including related technologies such as ESX
server, VMotion, vCenter, Lab Manager, Stage Manager, Converter, etc.
Produce basic project plans, root cause analysis documents and report on
progress to management.
Qualifications
Skills Requirements:
Work experience (Required):
* 6+ years hands on experience with VMware and related
technologies, preferably in an engineering (vs. system administration)
capacity, including design of VMware infrastructure and integration into
new and existing systems
* 6+ years experience with VMware trouble shooting, server tuning,
optimization, and capacity planning
* 6+ years of functional Engineering group experience, preferably
in the financial services sector
* 8+ years experience with Windows (2003/2000) operation systems
engineering/administration
* 8+ years experience with Intel hardware, including blades.
Working knowledge (Nice to Have):
* Scripting skills (Power Shell, PERL, etc)
* Server clustering technologies
* SAN/NAS (preferably Hitachi and NetApp)
* Anti-Virus technologies (e.g. Symantec)
* Enterprise Backup technologies (e.g. TSM)
* Systems management technologies (e.g. Tivoli Framework/related
products)
* LAN/WAN technologies and network protocols (e.g. routers,
switches, TCP/IP)
* Database technologies (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server)
General skills (Required):
* Excellent conceptual and analytical skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Able to produce detailed technical documentation and server
architecture diagrams
* Adherence to corporate standards/problem and change management
policies
* A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required
* Professional certifications (e.g. VCP, VCDX)

Description:
This position requires a seasoned professional with at least 8 years of
experience in the IT industry. Candidates must have a very strong server
engineering background and possess detailed working knowledge of Citrix
software, Windows Operating Systems and Intel hardware as deployed in a
mission-critical, multi-site enterprise environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy Citrix applications, software,
and/or enhancements to existing Citrix infrastructure.
Ensure that Citrix deployments meet business requirements and goals, as
well as fulfill user requirements, system compliance, and security
specifications
Collaborate with desktop, server, and network engineers, IT Security,
and business analysts to identify and test application delivery via
Citrix programs and applications
Perform second and third level monitoring and troubleshooting of Citrix
servers including 24 x 7 support as needed
Identify and resolve systems issues, including installing and
configuring patches and upgrades as required
Identify and resolve problems affecting Citrix infrastructure
performance, efficiency, and availability in a timely manner
Analyze Citrix application usage and plan for growth or increases in
network capacity and/or licensing
Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures for Citrix
system administration and appropriate use
Qualifications
* 5+ years hands on experience with Citrix technologies
* 4+ years experience with Windows Server 2003 x 64 Terminal
Services installation/configuration and operation, with special emphasis
on a Citrix Environment
* 5+ years experience with Microsoft Active Directory and group
policy
* 1+ years experience with Citrix XenApp Server 4.5,
installation, configuration, and operation
* 5+ years experience of Application and Desktop Publishing
through a web browser
* 5+ years hand on experience providing Citrix trouble shooting,
optimization, patch management and capacity planning
* 5+ years of functional Engineering group experience,
preferably in the financial services sector
3+ years project management skills supporting large scale
corporate initiatives
Working knowledge of:
* LAN/WAN technologies and network protocols (e.g. routers,
switches, TCP/IP, firewalls)
* Enterprise database technologies (MS SQL)
* Systems management technologies (e.g. Tivoli Framework, HPSIM)
General skills:
* Excellent conceptual and analytical skills
