General Summary
Responsible for generating and executing test cases and scripts for
system and regression level testing to ensure that the software
release works as expected and does not degrade from the current
release. Work closely with department lead and other departments
within the company as well as outside partners to gain a solid
understanding of our products to ensure that we are delivering a
quality release to production.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
*Generate Test Case and Test Scripts for System Level and Regression
Level Testing to ensure that the release satisfies all defined
requirements.
*Execute and verify Regression Level Testing of existing software
that has been submitted to test for a new release or maintenance
release to ensure that it continues to function correctly.
*Execute and verify System Level Testing of new software releases
and changes made to existing software.
*Investigate problems fully and completely before informing
development to ensure that they are valid defects.
*Communicate issues to their supervisor that require immediate
attention.
Provide open communication with peers, development, and product
management regarding problems or enhancements to the software that
may affect our systems or clients.
Work with internal client representatives to gain a high level
understanding of the business process and how clients use our
software.
Complete tasks assigned to them by their supervisor with moderate
direction.
Job Specifications
B. S. in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or
equivalent combination of work and education
SQL /Oracle experience
UNIX experience plus vi editor
Basic knowledge of PERL or similar language
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong problem solving skills
Understanding of the software development life cycle
· 2+ years of SQL/Oracle experience
· 2+ years of Unix experience plus vi editor

Type: Permanent salaried position
A new wireless telecommunications startup organization is looking
for self motivated test engineers who are looking for a technical
challenge. We are looking for a test engineer that can solve
difficult problems working within a team environment. We provide
solutions for wireless carriers, so experience with carrier grade
platforms is an added plus.
General Qualifications:
·Bachelor of Science Computer Science or equivalent field
·Proficient in the software development life cycle using agile
development
·Proven track record for testing complex product features in a multi-
tiered environment
·Ability to work in a team environment
·Strong Communication skills both verbal and written
·Previous experience with web based technology and wireless
telecommunications
·Self starter with a desire to learn new skills
Technical Qualifications:
Required:
·2 years of automated test experience
·1 year experience within a J2EE environment
·2+ years experience with Java
·2+ years experience programming to relational database back ends
(Oracle or MySQL preferred)
·1 year experience with HTML, Javascript or JSP's
Desired:
·GIS experience a plus
·Mobile handset application testing a plus
