Brocade Communications - Oracle Database Administrator

The Sr Database Administrator will work as part of a global team to provide production and development database administration support for all Oracle-based corporate databases and Oracle Application 11i environments. This support includes application of all patches, upgrades, cloning and configuration management of all associated software. This includes troubleshooting and analysis associated with the daily administration, maintenance of multiple database in a diverse computing environment.  requires collaboration with software developers and business analysts in implementation and testing of application and database releases. The individual in this role will need to have a solid grasp database technologies/architecture and Oracle Applications 11i.

Education:  Bachelors Degree in CS or related field or equivalent working experience.

Related Work Experience:
  Minimum of 7 years in IT related fields with 6 years direct experience on multiple platforms working with Oracle Applications 11i and Oracle RDBMS releases 10g and 11g.  This position requires proficiency in Backup and Recovery, Database Tuning, SQL Tuning, and Database and Application Administration and Security. Proficiency with UNIX is required.

CoBank - Senior Software Engineer

At CoBank, our Senior Software Engineer will analyze, design, develop, configure, test and implement changes to new and existing custom and third party applications at CoBank. This person will also provide business hours and after hours support to applications already in production. ·         Participate in logical and physical database model designs and implement as required. Develop, implement, test and maintain T/SQL, PL/SQL, shell and utility scripts.

·         Recommend and perform security enhancements of the database and data.

·         Test and maintain reliable backup and restore processes and procedures. Test and maintain an efficient and workable disaster recovery process for the database platforms.

·         Collaborates with the Technical Services team in the maintenance and monitoring of Database and Systems infrastructure.

·         Participate as a member of an On Call rotation for multiple systems.

·         Able to respond to system outages during off-hours.

·         Able to work evenings and weekends when required.


Education, Technical Skills, and Training:

·         Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications

·         Minimum of seven (7) years progressive database administrator experience required.
